This unique sheet carrier is made of medical-grade gelatin and refined through precise pore-making, freezing, slicing and drying processes. Its excellent physical properties include a specific surface area of ​​more than 9000cm²/g, providing an ideal growth platform for cells. SponDisk™ is a white block in appearance and is composed of multiple layers of sheet carriers stacked together. When placed in culture medium or PBS buffer, it can quickly disperse into separate carrier sheets. Each carrier is diamond-shaped or rectangular, with an edge length of more than 5mm and a macroporous structure of 10~100μm inside, providing cells with a stable and suitable growth microenvironment. Thanks to the good biocompatibility between its matrix material and cells, SponDisk™ is not only suitable for high-density culture of conventional cells, but also an ideal choice for serum-free culture of cells that are difficult to adhere to (such as mesenchymal stem cells and Vero cells) and low-serum high-density culture of IBS diploid cells.

Application

 Applicable to a variety of bioreactors: It performs well in fixed-bed bioreactors and is also suitable for Vave bioreactors to meet the needs of different application scenarios.

SponDisk™ carrier uses medical grade gelatin as the matrix, which has natural affinity with cells and is particularly suitable for cell types that have high requirements for the growth environment, such as mesenchymal stem cells (MSCS), MRC-5 cells, 2BS cells, WI-38 cells and other high-density cultures of adherent cells.
